PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Ron is the founding Partner of Meyer, Blohm and Powell, P.A.

Reflecting his standing in the legal community, Ron has been awarded an “AV” Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards reflecting the confidential opinions of members of the Bar and the Judiciary familiar with his practice of law.  

Representing candidates, political organizations and elected officials is a cornerstone of his practice of law, providing advice and guidance and, when necessary, representation before the Florida Elections Commission, the Florida Commission on Ethics and the Federal Election Commission. He offers comprehensive assistance in forming and operating political committees, electioneering communication organizations and similar entities involved in the political process.  He conducts regular training on issues relating to campaign finance and elections.

Ron is admitted to practice by the Florida Supreme Court in all state courts within Florida and is a member of the Bars of the Northern, Middle and Southern United States District Courts in Florida and the Southern District of Alabama, the Fifth and Eleventh United States Circuit Courts of Appeal and the United States Supreme Court.

Prior to founding Meyer, Blohm and Powell, P.A. and its predecessors Meyer and Brooks, P.A., Meyer, Brooks, Demma and Blohm, P.A. and Meyer and Blohm, P.A., Ron was a partner in the Tampa law firm of Frank and Meyer, P.A.  Ron is also the former General Counsel to the Florida Education Association and has served as General Counsel for the Florida Association of School Administrators and Counsel to the Florida School Boards Association.  A significant part of his practice continues to be devoted to representing teachers and education support professionals on a broad range of education issues. He also regularly represents physicians, physician assistants, funeral directors and other professionals in employment, contracting, licensing and regulatory actions.
